With something for everyone, it’s no wonder Manchester attracts music fans from all over the country who book bargain accommodation from sites such as http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/book/manchester-hotels and enjoy a whole weekend of good music and dancing in the northern city.
No matter what your music taste, there’s bound to be something to take your fancy:
Home to Brit-pop legends Oasis, it’s no wonder Manchester is a great place to go to for live music. With its new Martin Audio sound system, new band and DJ equipment, creative promotions team, in-house events and innovative talent coming through their doors every day, the newly refurbished live music venue, Dry Live, which is situated beneath the famous Dry Bar, aims to stamp its mark again on the Manchester music scene. Since Friday 14th September, key club night The Hangout has returned to the venue, which will be its home on every second Friday.
Dance music fans should head to the Warehouse Project, which is taking over the city with nights at Victoria Warehouse from 28th September until 1st January. Notable events include Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox on 5th October, Sub Focus on 13th October, Chase & Status on 3rd November, Skrillex on 6th December, The Chemical Brothers on 8th December and Fatboy Slim on 14th December.
The perfect place for those who want to get away from young drunken revellers, Cuba Café is a charming 150-capacity bar and club with an interior full of old radios, pictures and instruments from the 1940s and 1950s. With its salsa dancing lessons and over 25s door policy at the weekends, Cuba Café has a unique character and is also famous for being the bar in which Coldplay played their first gig.
As the largest indoor arena in Europe, the obvious choice for pop music is the Manchester Arena. Past performances have seen the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna and local lads Take That entertaining the 21,000 capacity crowd, with gigs in the coming months including Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Evanescence, The Killers and Keane.
So with Manchester having its fair share of cheap hotels in the UK, why not give yourself a pre-Christmas treat and book a mad weekend away?
