The boy fell 40ft from a cliff in Cornwall
A 16-year-old boy has died in hospital after falling from a cliff in Cornwall.
The boy, from Lowton, Warrington in Cheshire, had been attempting to cross a cliff face with a friend at Cadgwith Cove, near Helston at around 4pm on Sunday 22 July when he fell around 40-50 feet, sustaining very serious injuries.
Members of the public on the beach attempted to give first aid and HM Coastguard attended the scene along with ambulance crews.
He was flown to Treliske hospital by a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.
He had been on holiday with his family. They remained at his bedside in hospital until he later died from injuries sustained.
Police are now preparing a file on behalf of HM Coroner. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
He is due to be formally identified later this week.
