Plants found

Police have uncovered Cannabis at a house in Runcorn.

Officers from Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit made the discovery at a property in Coney Grove on Saturday (12 May).

A warrant was executed at the address at around 12.20pm. Once inside the property officers discovered almost 70 Cannabis plants, which were drying out, along with various equipment used to grow the Cannabis.

No-one was inside the property at the time and enquiries are continuing.

PC Andy Blizard, of Runcorn NPU, said: "This warrant was executed as a result of information, which was passed on by the local community. We have seized a quantity of illegal drugs and have been able to put a stop to it.

"No-one has been arrested at this stage and our enquiries are continuing. We would appeal for anyone with any information in relation to the Cannabis find to contact us.

"The warrant is part of ongoing efforts by the neighbourhood policing team to tackle the issue of illegal drugs in the town.

"Suspected drug related activity will not be tolerated − this sort of behaviour is not acceptable and residents can rest assured that positive action will be taken against anyone found to be involved in drug use or supply.

"Information from members of the public is vital. We want to reassure residents that local officers will continue to react swiftly and positively to any information that is passed on in relation to drug related activity in the area."

Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101.

Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
