Dragon Boat race day in Leigh for Stroke charity

Eight dragon boat teams will battle for first place this afternoon to raise vital funds for Stroke victims

Local and national businesses are turning out in force for Think Ahead Stroke Group’s Charity Dragon Boat Race 2012, a unique sporting event raising funds for local Stroke awareness and support charity Think Ahead.

With the scenic Pennington Flash as a backdrop, the eight Dragon Boat teams will be joined by representatives of Think Ahead Stroke Group, who will be using the funds raised to improve lives for those affected by Stroke in the local area.

Later in the day, the winners of the Charity Dragon Boat Racing will be presented with their trophy, presenting a great moment of celebration.
