Some roads still closed, others getting back to normal
Traffic at Blackbrook Road and West End Road, in St.
Helens, is now running smoothly and water levels are contained.
College Street remains shut and water levels
are still rising. Islands Brow and Merton Bank Road are also still closed as
water levels are rising here.
Peasley
Cross Lane was opened up after the peak rush hour this morning but is being
monitored throughout the day.
Burrows
Lane is still closed and the water level is still high though cars can use an
adjacent service road.
Watery Lane is now
passable but there is still a lot of water coming off adjacent land and this is
also being kept under review. Smock Lane re-opened yesterday.
