
Shots fired this morning in Fazakerley
Merseyside Police has launched an investigation after shots were fired in Fazakerley this morning (Tuesday, 7 August).
Officers were called to Waresley Crescent shortly after 11.20am following reports that gunshots had been heard in the street.
On arrival officers found damage to the front of a property and evidence that a number of shots had been discharged. At this time no one is reported as being injured.
A search of the area is underway, a cordon is in place and crime scene investigators are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene.
House to house enquiries are being conducted and there is a highly visible police presence in the area to reassure the community.
At this early stage of the investigation the motive for the shooting has not been established.
