Tributes paid to boy found in Mersey

Friday, July 13th 2012 01:00

Friends Lewis may have been bullied

Tributes are being paid to 14 year old Lewis Millward, who's body was found in the River Mersey yesterday (Thurs), close to the Runcorn-Widnes bridge.

Lewis was a pupil at Wade Deacon Secondary School, his friends say he was being bullied. As yet, the school has not made any comment.

A post mortem conducted yesterday determined the cause of death to be multiple injuries consistent with a fall. There is no evidence to suggest any third party involvement and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Lewis′s family request that their privacy be respected at this difficult time

Hundreds of people have left messages on a Facebook page set up in Lewis' memory:

Warren Millar: "Lewis not only were you a very bright young man but talented as well. I will remember the good times at BB camp where you will be sadly missed, helping you tune your guitar and teaching you a few chords (badly on my part I may add!) and you and Adam rolling in the sand down on the beach then jumping in the sea :-) happy times :-)"

Mel Moss: "R.I.P lewis you was the best! Rest in paradise angel-sleep tight! Sweet dreams♥♥♥"

Tula Wild: "I still can't believe it. I can't sleep as I'm still waiting to wake up in the morning and receive one of your messages and then see your smiling face. I'm still waiting for you to come back and tell me it was all a mistake. I miss you so much and I just can't accept it."

May Wilkinson: "Just goes to show how many people actually thought of you and miss you already, the bullies who did what they did will get what's coming to them and I hope they can't live with themselves knowing what they pushed you too. No-one deserves to feel like you did, my thoughts are with your family and friends."

Sean Schofield: "Lewis, you were always happy and never angry at anyone,we always had a laugh,we never did get round to starting that band,it would of been fun but life goes on, gonna miss you mate."

Jade Stone: "RIP. Can't sleep knowing what you went through Lewis, missed and loved by many but never going to be forgotten, to young for someone to pass away had so many things in life to expirience hope those bullies get what they deserve."
