Jaw broken in unprovoked attack
A woman has been left with a broken jaw following an unprovoked attack in Salford.
At around 10.55pm on Friday 29 June 2012, the 31-year-old was walking along Worsley Street, Swinton when a group of four or five men walked towards her.
One of the men exchanged words with her before the victim was punched in her face. She fell to the floor and was knocked unconscious.
The offender is described as being in his late teens or early 20s, of thin build, was bald and wore a white t-shirt.
Detective Constable Andy Munden from Salford CID said: "This was a completely unprovoked attack on a lone woman that has left her with a broken jaw in two places.
"She has been left severely shaken by her ordeal and is in a lot of pain.
"The attack happened on a housing estate and I would ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact police as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 5351 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
