You may remember that before Christmas we ran an appeal to raise some funds for a local boy called Mark Hilton.
Mark is a young boy from Wigan who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, and last year had a massive fit which has left him completely paralysed and needing round the clock care.
We asked you to donate money to help freshen up Mark's bedroom, and you kindly donated over £1000.
Already we have spent some of the money on some simple things like sensory lighting for his room, and a small fridge, in which his carers can keep Mark's numerous medicines close to hand.
Crucially we've managed to get hold of an air purifier which ensures through these difficult winter months, Mark is kept away from any nasty bugs. Any infection he contracts could be very serious.
In the Spring we'll be using some of your money to redecorate and hopefully re-carpet Mark's bedroom, plus we'd like to buy a new sofa for his carers.
And we'll be teaming up with the Make A Wish Foundation and Groundwork to set up a special sensory garden for Mark to enjoy this summer.
