It's Back! Wigan And St Helens To Kick Off Super League Season

Wigan will travel over to the Totally Wicked Stadium to face St Helens tonight.

After what feels like a lifetime Super League is finally back and what better way to kick it off than with a local derby.

This year there's a brand new face in the Wigan camp with Adrian Lam taking over as Head Coach.

Wales rugby union defence coach Shaun Edwards will take over as their new boss in 2020 and Lam's in charge until then.

"I'm hoping I can give my philosophy of coaching to the boys to try and improve them in certain areas" Lam told us

"We'll hold on to what worked for them in 2018 but build blocks on that of what I think is going to work for us so when that comes together look out!".

Tonight's hosts St Helens will have new signings Lachlan Coote, Kevin Naiqama and Joseph Paulo available for selection.

"Lochlan is a really skillful attacking player still, won't have the excitement of Ben Barba but not many do"  Saints Coach Justin Holbrook said.

"Kevin is really exciting outside back and strong and Joseph Paulo has some great skill.

"They'll all bring different aspects on the pitch and they are really important additions"

You can catch full build up and commentary of tonight's season opener on Wish FM from 7pm.
