Latics complete season on a high

Joe Garner with the winner against Millwall

Wigan Athletic have rounded off their Championship season with a 1-0 win against Millwall at the DW Stadium.

The game had nothing riding on it, with both clubs assured of survival and at times the game was played at training match pace.

Once Joe Garner had pounced to capitalise on a spilled shot from Nick Powell, both sides had a couple of chances to affect the score, but in the end, Wigan had enough to complete the season with 16 points from their final 9 games and remain unbeaten at home since New Years' Day.

They complete the season 18th in the table, 12 points above the relegation zone.

Here are the final thoughts of manager Paul Cook.
