Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Jamal Lowe from Portsmouth, for an undisclosed fee.
Lowe, 25, has signed a three-year deal with Latics in a move that sees him reunite with Paul Cook, the manager who brought him to Pompey in 2017.
Latics’ new number nine scored 17 goals in Sky Bet League One last season, having scored nine times in the previous campaign – one of which came against Latics in April 2018.
In two-and-a-half seasons with Pompey, Lowe played 119 games and scored 30 goals.
Cook brought Lowe to Portsmouth from Hampton & Richmond Borough, where he’d scored 33 goals in two campaigns, in what was the start of Lowe’s rise from non-league to the Championship.
Lowe will now hope to make his Latics debut on Saturday when they host Cardiff City at the DW Stadium.
