Four days of strikes by Arriva bus drivers in run up to Christmas

Nine additional days of strike action by Arriva bus drivers have been announced causing potential travel chaos for Christmas shoppers.

The walkouts by union members include four days in the run up to Christmas from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd as their row over pay goes on.

Public support has largely been with the drivers so far despite disruption for commuters

GMB Regional Organiser Eddie Parker tells us he hopes that doesn't change :

"I would hope people consider the membership are giving up part of their pay. You don't take strike action just for the sake of it you do it because it's principled. Our members are missing out of pay and we understand the public are missing out on transport but it shows you how much they're taking this seriously."

The proposed dates for the fresh action are as follows :

The 4th and 7th December 2017
The 12th, 13th and 14th December 2017
The 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd December 2017
