A 19-year-old man has been jailed for a knifepoint robbery in St Helens.
On Wednesday 8th May 2019, a 52 year-old man was visiting a friend in Providence Court, St Helens, when Jordan Slevin entered the flat and produced a large knife and demanded cash. The victim handed over a quantity of cash.
Officers later arrested Slevin. A search of his flat uncovered a quantity of cash, cannabis and a ‘Rambo-style’ knife.
Slevin, of Providence Court, St Helens, pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a controlled drug (cannabis) and sentenced to five years custody when he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Steve Ball said: “I am pleased with how quickly we were able to detain Slevin and bring this matter to court.
“Slevin initially denied the robbery but later changed his plea and was sentenced to five years.
“Although the victim in this matter was not physically hurt he was left shaken by his ordeal. I hope that knowing Slevin will be behind bars for a considerable amount of time will allow him to recover from his ordeal."
