Police Charge Man After St Helens Smash That Left Pensioner In Critical Condition

The crash happened over six months ago but officers say they have now charged a man.

At around 9.40am on Friday, 22 December reports were received of a collision near to Tesco in Stadium Industry Park, St Helens believed to have involved a Bentley and a Nissan.  

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital and was in a critical condition but is now recovering. 

Following an extensive investigation, 39-year-old Paul Bordache from Gladstone Street, St Helens has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with licence. 

Bordache will next appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates Court, Derby Square on Thursday, 12 July.
