Saints Fans Could Be Banned After Flares Set Off In Game

St.Helens R.F.C is aware of an incident that occurred in the away end at the Halliwell Jones Stadium involving a minority of St.Helens fans.

Working with Warrington Wolves and local police, we have identified a small number of fans using pyrotechnics (flares) and as the investigation progresses we are fully expecting the outcome to result in these fans either being banned from attending club games and/or  prosecution.

St.Helens R.F.C’s upcoming match with Wigan Warriors at the Totally Wicked Stadium will see stewards strategically placed in and amongst the fans to ensure that a zero tolerance policy is in place.

As part of the Totally Wicked Stadium’s ground regulations, anyone caught bringing smoke grenades or flares into any ground or throwing beer, or any other liquid, risk being banned and reported to the police.
