Grandmother Of A Schoolboy Who Fell Through A St Helens Swimming Baths Roof Updates Us

The Grandmother of a 12 year old who fell through the roof at Parr Swimming Baths says he's lucky to be alive.

In a Facebook post she thanked well-wishers and confirmed he's broken his back, femur, ankle and elbow.

She's also expressed how lucky she believes he is after claiming a metal bar he hit during the fall saved his life.

She says that changed his direction meaning he landed in the pool rather than on the hard floor.

The police say he's in a "serious condition" in hospital following the incident on Sunday night.

They have also told Wish FM that he had been seen on the roof with two other youths on Ashcroft Street before he "fell through".
