Tributes To Woman Killed In M58 Collision

A woman who sadly died in a collision on the M58 has been named as Anne Kerr, 50, from Southport.

Her family have paid the following tribute to her:

“Anne was much loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

“She was a daughter, wife, and mum to two lovely boys. She was a lovely personality to be around. Her death has left us all heartbroken.”

The M58 was closed in both directions between Skelmersdale and Bickerstaffe.

The collision, which happened between junctions 3 and 4 Westbound, involved an HGV, a minibus and a number of other vehicles.

A number of other people suffered serious injuries and are being treated at hospital.

The driver of the HGV, a 31 year old man from Chorley, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in custody.

An investigation into the two collisions continues and Police have urged anyone who saw either of the incidents but hasn’t spoken to them already to come forward.
