Mel B: Spice Girls will play Glastonbury 2020

Glastonbury is no stranger to booking unlikely acts, but if Mel B has her way, next year's festival could outdo all others.

Scary says she is working to make sure the Spice Girls perform for the world-famous Worthy Farm event's 50th anniversary next year. Not only that, she is promising to get Posh Spice Victoria Beckham involved, too.

In an interview with the Mail On Sunday, she said: "My plan is for all five of us to do Glastonbury next year for the 50th anniversary. I'm in the process of persuading Victoria to do it. And I will make it happen."

The band got back together for a long-awaited reunion tour of the UK and Ireland earlier this year, but without Posh, who wished them luck but said no to the comeback.

Brown said she wants the reunion to continue.

"I don't want it to end," she said. "It was me who spent years and years nagging the rest of them to get back out there. Now we've done it, and we loved it. I'm going to make sure there will be more."

She said she was determined to convince Beckham to take part next time, saying of the reunion: "Victoria is Victoria. She didn't want to do it. She missed out."

The sell-out Spice World 2019 tour grossed more than £64m and marked the group's first performance together since the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony.

Brown also said in the interview that she was touched when Horner apologised for quitting the band in 1998, on the last night of the tour at Wembley Stadium.

She said: "Geri and I are in a good place now. On the last night at Wembley, Geri did something which, I think, meant more to me than any of the other girls.

"She said sorry for leaving the group back in 1998. We had been so close and then she just left and never really said why and never really said sorry until a few weeks ago.

"She gave me a massive hug after she said it and both of us had tears in our eyes because we knew, deep down, it had needed to be said for a long time, something that had rankled between us."
